About the plantings
The sessions will take place at locations around the Dane Valley area on private land. We will only be planting native broadleaf trees and will only plant at sites where woodland is appropriate for the conditions, usually land which is normally grazed and/or cut for silage.
All sessions will be approximately 9.30 - 12.30.
Please arrive promptly at the meeting points at the time indicated so that we can make a good start to each session.
What you will need to bring
Work gloves and a trowel / weeding fork would be ideal. We will also need one or two lump hammers for knocking in loose stakes, so if you have one that could be useful.
Ideally we need people who are ready and able to dig planting holes for the trees, but there are much lighter tasks for those unable to dig, such as protecting the trees with plastic guards. If you are able to dig please try to bring along your own spade and work/gardening gloves and ideally a mallet/lump hammer for erecting the tree guard stakes.
You will need to provide your own refreshments if you require any, and there will be no toilet facilities apart from what the countryside has to offer!
